Selection Criteria Changes
In
June, the five-member NHS Faculty Council met to reevaluate the
criteria for selection in the Catherine E. Churchill chapter of NHS in
an effort to ensure that those criteria
are consistent with the school’s core values and beliefs and as part of
the school’s ongoing self-assessment in preparation for its 2013
accreditation visit. In conjunction with the Principal, the Faculty
Council unanimously voted to raise the minimum grade
point average requirement from 3.3 to 3.5, beginning with the 2012-13
academic year selection process. As always, all current members of the
chapter are expected to maintain the standards under which they were
inducted.
Fundraising Activity
With
the help of the MS and HS Faculty, NHS members donated $299 to the
Hospice of the Northshore and participated in the annual Walk for
Hospice at St. John’s Prep on Sunday,
September 23.
