I am pleased to announce that we have rescheduled our Boston MedFlight's new SafeTeens program.  The program will be held on Monday, April 14, 2014.  We have coordinated this new date with our local safety agencies.  The presentation consists of an automobile crash reenactment featuring RHS Peer Leaders, the Rockport Police and Fire Departments, and other first responders, a fly-in by a MedFlight helicopter, and a presentation by certified MedFlight personnel.

Rockport Middle School and the Rockport Parent Teacher Organization are proud to announce that the students at RMS sold $1,564 in Energy Efficient Products from National Grid.  Our highest seller was sixth grader Katie W followed closely by eighth grader Andraya O.  Katie will receive a $25 Barnes and Noble gift certificate donated by National Grid and Andraya will receive a $25 Cape Ann Bowling gift certificate donated by the PTO.  Congratulations also go out to Ms. Story’s eighth grade homeroom.  Ms. Story’s homeroom was the highest earning homeroom and has earned a class breakfast donated by the administration at RMS.

The school and PTO will use the proceeds to purchase another Water Bottle Filling Station.  The filling station will be the third added to the school over the past year.  The Class of 2013 as a graduation gift donated the first two filling stations.  The stations feature filtered water and a bottle counter so that we can gauge how many plastic water bottles we saved. To date we have saved nearly 15,000 plastic bottles.

Thank you to the PTO and National Grid for introducing us to the Energy Efficiency Products Fundraiser, to the students for selling all of the items, to the teachers taking time out of their classes, and to the community for their support.

Tomorrow’s Boston MedFlight mock crash has been postponed.  We are postponing the event due to the cold weather forecast for tomorrow.  The event will be rescheduled to April 2014. As soon as we have an exact date we will announce it. We are currently working with MedFlight to set a new date.

Please note that tomorrow will be a regular school day.  High school students will be attending B, D, G, and F Blocks tomorrow Tuesday, March 25, 2014.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may create.
