Dear Parents,

HELP! We have one week to go in order for everyone to complete his or her confidential NEASC/Endicott survey.  To date we have not met our completion goal of 100% of our students, 100% of our staff, and 30% of our parents.  This survey is crucial to the success of our accreditation process.  This year we are entering the self-study phase of our accreditation process.  Over the past two years we have created a Core Values and Beliefs Statement, our School and Community Profile, and rubrics to measure our School-wide Expectations, which is also attached to this letter.

Completion of the NEASC/Endicott survey is a critical to our process.  The survey gives each constituent group a confidential opportunity to celebrate the strengths of our middle/high school and to provide feedback on areas where we can improve.

If you have any questions about the survey or the accreditation process, please do not hesitate to contact me here at school.

All surveys must be completed by the close of school on October 5, 2012.

Thank you in advance for your feedback and as always thank you for your continued support!

Sincerely,

Philip Conrad

 Selection Criteria Changes

In June, the five-member NHS Faculty Council met to reevaluate the criteria for selection in the Catherine E. Churchill chapter of NHS in an effort to ensure that those criteria are consistent with the school’s core values and beliefs and as part of the school’s ongoing self-assessment in preparation for its 2013 accreditation visit.  In conjunction with the Principal, the Faculty Council unanimously voted to raise the minimum grade point average requirement from 3.3 to 3.5, beginning with the 2012-13 academic year selection process.   As always, all current members of the chapter are expected to maintain the standards under which they were inducted.

 Fundraising Activity

With the help of the MS and HS Faculty, NHS members donated $299 to the Hospice of the Northshore and participated in the annual Walk for Hospice at St. John’s Prep on Sunday, September 23.

Members of the NHS are currently selling Yankee Candles as a fundraiser, please see a member of NHS if you are interested please see an NHS member.
