Congratulations to O'Malley B., Madeleine D., Quenton H., Nelson P., Allie S., and Ben T. for representing Rockport High School at the Northeast Senior District Music Festival in Lowell over the weekend. These six students were selected by audition from hundreds of applicants across Northeastern Massachusetts to participate in performances with the orchestra, chorus, or jazz band at the festival.
For high achievement at their auditions, O'Malley, Madeleine, and Ben also earned recommendations to audition for the all-state festival, which will have its performance at Boston Symphony Hall in March.
Special congratulations to Ben, who was one of four recipients of the festival's "Excellence in Music" scholarships. He is the first student from Rockport to receive this honor.
