The Rockport High School Drama Llamas present Lisa Loomer’s Distracted

The Rockport High School Drama Llamas have prepared Lisa Loomer’s Distracted for this year’s Massachusetts Educational Theatre Guild Drama Festival.  This seriocomedy follows a modern family faced with modern problems.  Nine-year-old Jesse can’t seem to sit still or stay out of trouble.  His teacher thinks it’s Attention Deficit Disorder.  Dad thinks boys will be boys.  But Mama is in need of answers.  Is Jesse’s behavior dysfunctional or just different?  Is it possible to keep from being distracted in our modern world of instant-gratification and over-stimulation?  These are the questions the show seeks to answer as Mama consults doctor after doctor and explores every conceivable option from behavior modification to medication while trying to keep her family intact.
There will be a preview performance for the public on Thursday, February 28th @ 7:00 p.m. in the John Lane Auditorium at 24 Jerden’s Lane.  Donations will be accepted at the door.
The RHS Drama Llamas will perform first, at Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School, on March 2nd @ 9:00 a.m. at 775 Bay Road, South Hamilton.  Tickets for the festival will be $10.00 at the door.
