Massachusetts 8th Grade Students Rank First in the Country!

Congratulations to last year’s 8th grade class!  As many of you know Rockport Middle School took part in the 2011 National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP).  Governor Deval Patrick, Secretary of Education Paul Reville, and DESE Commissioner Mitchell Chester announced the results yesterday in Lynn.  If you have not heard already, Massachusetts students ranked first in grade 8 mathematics, and tied for first in grade 8 reading.  This marked the fourth consecutive NAEP administration where Massachusetts 8th graders outscored their counterparts across the nation.

Congratulations again on the incredible achievement!
